- I am saddened to report that David Beckham's new underwear ad fails to incite any emotion that could be remotely construed as 'fervor' or 'excitement' or 'remote interest'. Alas. I'm still surprised Armani went with La Beckham, especially when he was up at the Bridge feelin' on Claudio Pizarro in October. At least he didn't go with Andriy Shevchenko, who seems to have devoted more time than necessary this season on perfecting his 'malnourished, socially underrepresented Eastern European waif living under an oppressive proto-fascist regime' look. God knows if he took his clothes off I'd be reduced to frantically making donations to UNICEF.
- RAFA BENITEZ (who, annoyingly, seems to have come to his senses recently and didn't even bother thinking up a mad conspiracy theory for the match against Reading. If this is the way it's going to be from now on then I do hope he gets the sack) was at a BOUTIQUE opening and no one told me. How is this possible? He was wearing a decidedly unstylish sweater-vest which I'm 95% sure was picked out by Xabi. Xabi loves sweater vests. (Alex Curran knows she shouldn't even be wearing that shirt. Can nothing be done with this woman?)
- To be quite honest I can't imagine Marcelo Lippi making a 'come and get me' plea to anyone, let alone England. It's great how we've gone right back to assuming everyone's just dying for this job.
